Cemento Cosmos to stop Cordoba kiln29 November 2021, Published under Cement NewsCemento Cosmos, part of Brazil-based Votorantim Cimentos, is stopping the kiln at its Córdoba plant in Spain in 2022 due to high energy costs. The plan is to “significantly” reduce clinker production with temporary shutdowns over the next year, reports Diario Córdoba. ENCI halts clinker production01 April 2019, Published under Cement NewsENCI, based in The Netherlands, has shut down its kiln after 91 years of operation. The event, which was carried out in the night of 29 March 2019, was low-key. The plant’s limestone quarry in Sint-Pietersberg, South Limburg, will now be a home to rare insects. Until 2018 the cement producer quarried limestone for the works’ kiln line. However, on 1 January 2020, the 120h site will pass to the management of Natuurmonumenten. |
